I hope that you enjoyed your summer break and are ready to get back to work in the Physics lab. For those of you already thinking about the October holidays, I thought I might suggest Butlins. They are running an interesting holiday idea with some Physics thrown in for free.

line spectra websites
I found a couple of websites to help you revise the emission and absorption of specific colours of light by different elements.
There is an interactive challenge to see if you can work out which elements are present in different stars.
Another test on line spectra here.
A diagram showing how absoption removes different parts of a star’s spectrum.
New Study Guide for 2007 Physics Exams
The Herald has produced a revised study guide for the 2007 exams, you can get it here.
Sunday Herald revision guide for Physics (Standard Grade & Higher)
The Sunday Herald published a revision guide for the 2006 Physics exams – those of you sitting Higher Physics next month might remember it. I found a copy of the article online and thought I would share it with those of you preparing for your first experience of SQA exams. Remember that this guide was published last year, so the date the give for the exam is incorrect – your exams will be held on 16th May. The advice is still good though!

Holidays are here!
Enjoy your Easter holiday but remember that you need to use this time to get through a lot of revision in all your Standard Grade subjects, not just Physics.
I have updated the S4 Revision page by adding Space Physics notes plus new revision material and worked examples for the Energy and Transport units. Everything you need to pass Physics should be available on the page now.
If you have any questions about your revision why not leave a comment for me on the revision page and I will try to answer it for you.
